About auvisus

auvisus is a machine learning startup based in Karlsruhe, Germany. We use AI-powered computer vision to recognize articles by camera and thereby automate the checkout process in canteens. Since our founding as a research spin-off of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), we have built and launched our product, the visioncheckout. Today, we serve some of Germanys biggest companies with a frictionless and automated checkout process. Our goal is to deploy visioncheckouts wherever people enjoy food around the world and become the norm for how people buy their lunch.

Position summary

You will be leading the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for our engineering team. In addition, you are responsible for improving and maintaining our business critical cloud infrastructure. You are passionate about continuously improving and automating the way we deliver software. You are a quality enthusiast, who always has the systems stability and scalability at the forefront of your mind. You participate in architecting new software systems and make sure requirements from the DevOps-perspective are well taken care of. Your work will have a direct impact for thousands of people at various big companies using our products every day.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for our engineers
  • Collaborate with other engineers to improve build-, integration- & release-processes
  • Bear responsibility for our cloud infrastructure and on-premise deployments
  • Steadily work on increasing the stability and scalability of our systems
  • Work together with other engineers to design and implement new systems in the cloud and on-premise

What you’ll need

  • BS/MS in computer science, information systems, or relevant field
  • 1-2 years of practical experience in using Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD tools and creating pipelines
  • Good hands on experience on Python programming and Django/Flask
  • Experience in software development processes such as building, unit testing, code analysis and release processes
  • Expertise with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Working knowledge on Ubuntu and Windows Server
  • Good experience working with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience in CI/CD processes and platforms such as Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD
  • Interest in machine learning and its implications for DevOps
  • Ability to quickly learn new and existing technologies
  • Strong problem solving skills, software development and debugging skills
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results
  • Comfortable working in fast paced and dynamic environment
